FlowRider Opens at Six Flags Great America in Gurnee, IL

The latest addition to the FlowRider ® family just opened in Gurnee, IL as Six Flags added another FlowRider to their amazing lineup of amusement parks (Six Flags already operates FlowRiders at their Great Escape, NY and Hurricane Harbor, TX locations).  Under very “cool” skies, the Wave Loch team was there to train the staff.  The training of the staff went “amazingly well” according to Greg “Laz” Lazarus, one of the top riders in the world who is well versed in the technical capabilities of the FlowRider.

Apparently, many staff members went on a field trip to Kalahari Resorts for a little pregame tune-up for what is expected to be a huge summer at the park.  This, according to “Laz”, accelerated the learning curve for all of the Lifeguards in attendance and made the training much smoother and efficient.  “Having the guards familiar with the wave, and having a bit of experience, they were ready for some hands on training and were charging” stated Laz.  “Having guards that are stoked to be riding is sure to add to the fun of this endless wave in Illinois!”

The wave, contracted by Aquatics Development Group (Wave Loch’s North American Licensee), is the second FlowRider installed in Illinois, and with over 50 installations domestically and over 120 globally, Wave Loch is focused on growing the sport of Flowriding worldwide.  To view the installation location go to our Global Installations page to find the one nearest you.  Go ride a wave this summer – even if you don’t live near the beach!
