Good Chance Surfing at 2020 Olympics

According to Huffington Post, there’s a “good chance” surfing and karate will be at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

In addition, CNN chose to lead their story with surfing as one of the possibilities.

According to the ISA’s July 7th “Call to Action”, surfing (and SUP) is being voted on today/tomorrow for possible inclusion in the Pan Am Games 2019. The ISA needs global support now more than ever, and in their Call To Action (sent by email to members), they ask for donations. Read what the ISA President has to say about surfing in the Olympics: what’s at stake, the process, and the obstacles. Go HERE to donate to ISA today.

According to CNN, the Tokyo Olympics committee said it’s looking for events that will “serve as a driving force to promote the Olympic Movement and its values, with a focus on youth appeal.”

And the Christian Science Monitor says that surfing is an ideal fit for the younger demographic the Olympic committee is wooing, and “….the decision is likely to be heavily weighted toward the sport that has the largest market appeal to big international sponsors – giving the surfing the advantage” (emphasis added).

Well Wave Loch says……….. HELLO SURFING!!!

Will the Wave Loch SurfPool™ be the new Olympic training ground?

Only time will tell. We would love to see our favorite top surfers representing the USA in the Olympics!
